Cameron Diaz is slated to star in the latest hit novel turned movie; this time it’s Jodi Picoult’s My Sister’s Keeper. From what I’ve heard, just about everyone who’s read this book says the ending is pretty depressing. The book/movie is about a 13 year old girl who was concieved for the sole purpose of donating blood/organs to her older sickly sister. The story follows the sister as she tries to legally emancipate herself and the effects it has on her family. I would totally read this if I didn’t already know the ending.
Cameron will play the mother of both girls. The movie is set to start filming early next year and it will be directed by Nick Cassavetes who also directed The Notebook. Here’s a couple other book-to-movie projects I have my eye on:
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, starring Rachel Weisz, Ryan Gosling and Susan Surandon. Production is set to start later this year with Peter Jackson at the helm.
The Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffennegger, starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana. I’m staring at the book right now wondering when I’ll ever finish it. Casting is perfect though, if you ask me.
Nights In Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks, starring Diane Lane, Richard Gere and James Franco. Not too familiar with this novel but authors work always translates well on screen. This one is set to release in June of next year.

Usher was slated to get married in the Hamptons this weekend, to his ex stylist and replacement momma Tameka Foster but ended up calling the wedding off at the last minute. I think most of us got excited for a moment, thinking he had finally come to his sense, but it looks like that was just wistful thinking. Although Usher did reportedly fly back home to make amends with his real mother, it was just because he couldn’t get married without her there. He told US Magazine “As of right now we don’t have a date but we will let you know when we do.”…so yeah, they still plan to get hitched.
His fianced is also pregnant with his first child (and I think it’s her fourth from a previous relationship…or two). I would say “I hope the baby gets his looks” but considering she looks EXACTLY like him with a weave I suppose it doesn’t matter.

All the stars (and one REALLY tall dude) came out last night for the premiere of Rush Hour 3. Even Paris was there….although I’m not sure why. I completely forgot that they were making yet another installment of these movies. Who here is planning on seeing us? Let us know in the poll…
Will you be seeing Rush Hour 3?

I must be the only person on the face of the earth who hasn’t seen the first High School Musical, and I’m about to fall behind on the craze because the sequel debuts on August 17th. Of course, the cast is already doing press for the film, including this press conference and portrait session done earlier last week. Check out the rest of the pictures below:

Were they EVER actually together? I never believed it to begin with, and there were rumors that Jake Gylenhaal and Reese Witherspoon “broke up” about a month or two ago, although we never really saw much of them together. Yesterday photogs snapped Reese picking Jake up at his home in the Hollywood Hills, and then heading to her place in Brentwood. Maybe they’re just friends….who wear matching sunglasses.
But it won’t be the same….
