Paula Abdul is making her musical comeback! She has a new song called “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow”, produced by Randy Jackson, that debuted on KISS FM last week. Take a listen and tell us what you think:
A lot of people seem to like it; I can see why they do but I think it’s a tad bit…. annoying?
What do you think of Paula's new song?

Ya’ll ready for the new season? It starts tonight I couldn’t be more excited! But first, the judges and Ryan did a little interview with USA Today talking about the best and worst past contestants, performances, personalities, etc. It’s a pretty fun read and of course, I had to chip in with my opinions, so read on!
Best season
Simon: 1 & 2
Paula: 4 & 5
Randy: 3 (of course HE would pick that…)Season 2 or 4.
Worst finals singer
Sanjaya across the board
Paula: Kevin (in addition to Sanjaya)No on both. Corey Clark or Matt Rogers.
Most dissapointing career:
Simon & Ryan: Tamyra
Paula: KatharineDefinitely Tamyra, but she’s doing okay on Broadway.
Most surprising success:
Simon & Ryan: Chris D.How was that a surprise? I’d say Bucky Covington. Most would think Elliott Yamin.
Best performance:
Simon & Randy: Summertime
Paula: Summertime, Alone, You Give Love A Bad Name, Bridge Over Troubled WaterYay for no Over The Rainbow!
Worst performance:
Simon: You Really Got Me (Sanjaya)
Paula: Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting (Clay), Stayin’ Alive (Lakisha)Oh gosh, too many to count…. Climb Every Mountain by Anthony Federov? Celebration by Josh Gracin? Tiffany would probably go with Nights In White Satin by Sundance.
Worst voter decision:
Simon & Randy: Tamyra
Paula: Chris D., Tamyra, Jennifer Hudson
Ryan: Chris D.Constantine & Clay.
And anyone who voted for Jordin.Favorite theme:
Simon: Queen
Ryan: Motown
Randy: 60’s and 70’sQueen?? That was an abomination! I’d say Bon Jovi or S5’s Billboard. Worst would be Musicals
Most overdone songs:
Simon: Fallin by Alicia Keys, At Last by Etta James.
Paula: At Last, Whitney, Mariah.Agreed.
Best Personality
Simon: Fantasia & Kelly
Randy: Kelly, Fantasia, Carrie (seriously?!?!?) Clay and Ruben
Paula & Ryan: FantasiaKelly. Worst goes to Scott Savol.

Anyone shocked?? Anyone?
Bueller?
*crickets*

As big of a disappointment as this competition has been, the finale for The Next Great American Band was surprisingly entertaining! But more importantly the Clarks Brothers won the whole thing (which I actually knew since Monday) and boy did they deserve it. Even though their style is FAR from the type of music I like to listen to, I’d totally watch one of their concerts. And it’s surprising that this show is probably the only reality competition this year where the right person/group actually won…..heck even Clash of the Choirs got it wrong.
It was pretty messed up of them to totally snub Franklin Bridge in the final, but at least we got to see The Likes of You again. They pretty much showed that they were robbed with that performance, and I heard the band has already been signed; they’re definitely good enough. And the Christmas medley was just way too entertaining. My favorite part was seeing Cliff Wagner and the Old #7 put their own spin on Grandma Got Run Over by A Reindeer. Yeah, I don’t remember that song mentioning moonshine and a shotgun.
It’s a wrap for Next Great American Band. Until next year! Yeah, right.

Yes, I’m back and recapping American Band after a week off. I’m sure the five people watching, well mainly the .5 people who actually read this column missed it, so I apologize to you. Light of Doom kicked things off (yes, they made through another week) with “Jail House Rock”. This was an epic FAIL in my book; the metal sound just doesn’t mix with old school rock & roll. Thankfully the Clarks Brothers were up next singing “Saved”, and it was darn good. The judges are right when they say they put a TON of passion in everything they sing, and extra credit to Ashley (I think it was him?) because that boy PLAYED that fiddle like it was nobodies business!
Last week I really liked what Dot Dot Dot did with their Billy Joel song, that was good stuff, I’d DL it. And I wasn’t as in love with their rendition of “Love Potion #9″ but they did a good job of updating it. Cliff Wagner didn’t sound bluegrass while singing “Poison Ivy”. And every time Mile High makes it through I groan, but as soon as they start to sing I just kinda sorta enjoy it. Yeah they’re a wedding band but a pretty good one. The lead singer is just so vanilla though.
Almost forgot about Sixwire! I forgot the name of the song they sang but I didn’t like how it sounded “countrified”. That whole performance just lacked spark anyways though.
Okay, let’s take a minute to look back at this post that I made during the first performance show when I said this about Franklin Bridge…….” Sheila predicted they would win. Yeah, she just jinxed them. I see these guys falling through the cracks and it’s a shame.” I knew it would happen, but I hoped it wouldn’t have been so soon. Wasn’t even paying attention to Tres Bien.

The cover for ‘American Idol’ season six runner up Blake Lewis’ album, ‘Audio Day Dream’ has been released. The album will hit stores December 4.
I really like this cover, actually.
Kim asks: Which cover is the worst?
