Hollywood stars are rarely seen without their make-up, but when they occasionally step out without their trusty mascara, we get a glimpse of what the star beneath the layers of tan and foundation really looks like. I love Jessica Alba’s casual style – she always manages to look effortlessly stylish, by paring simple basic items with great accessories. This outfit is a perfect example of Jessica’s excellent style. She has paired simple leggings and a plain black cardigan with a standout scarf and bag. She topped the whole look off with classic black Rayban wayfarers and some cute pumps.

I’ve recreated Jessica’s signature look so that anyone can achieve her sophisticated casual chic. Jessica teams fitted simple pieces to start off. I’ve chosen a Wushishi patterned silk cardigan by Marc by Marc Jacobs which I teamed with skin tight jeans by Citizens of Humanity which have a legging style fit, just like Jessica Alba’s.

Now for the accessories, which are what make this outfit standout. I’ve chosen some flat pumps from Jimmy Choo, which look just like Jessica’s but also feature a subtle purple animal print. Jessica is wearing Rayban Wayfarers – I’ve included these exact sunglasses in my version of the look too – they’re very classic and won’t go out of style, celebs love these!

Jessica always adds colour to her casual looks with one bright accessory. I’ve chosen a bright scarf like the one she is wearing above. My version is by Marc Jacobs. Her cute black bag is really interesting – I love the oversized pockets, so I chose a similar style by Alexander Wang.

Jessica’s casual look is really simple and easy to recreate yourself – the key to this look is to keep it simple and add one piece with a dash of colour or which makes a big statement.

We all know Jessica Alba is adorable, but in a green, patterned mini dress and tough blue boots she takes it to new heights. Alba wore this punky-sweet ensemble to the UK premiere of Valentine’s Day. I’m not usually in support of anything with a bubble skirt, but the pattern on the dress makes me want to look past it. Those boots, complete with their laces and peeptoe fronts are fantastic.  I only wish I had more of a reason to rock bright, blue boots myself.

I think Jessica Alba looked amazing at the premiere of her new film, Valentine’s Day. Her peacock print dress and matching wedge shoes look fashionable and they also really suit Jessica’s own personal style. Her dress is a complete showstopper – I love the mix of colours and embellishment on it. The bell bottom style of this dress can be quite unflattering but Jessica sexes it up with bare legs and some towering wedges.

The greens on the shoes and dress don’t really match together very well but it manages to just draw your attention rather then clashing horribly. I love her piles of bangles on one of her arms – these remind me of Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow bangles that Nicole designed recently and they make the perfect accessory to this look. Jessica hair and make-up is quite well done – I love her bouncy short cut and her make-up matches the colours on the dress perfectly. I’ve always been a fan of Jessica’s style and this outfit proves she’s still an icon.

Jessica Alba, who is starring in the upcoming comedy Valentine’s Day, made some cryptic remarks about the institution of marriage in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine.  She’s been married to Cash Warren since 2008.  But her comments suggest that there may be trouble in paradise.  She says, for example,

“I had a hard time agreeing with marriage at all because I feel like its been warped. Originally, it was two families coming together to make a stronger family. It was about survival — not love or soul mates.”

I’m not sure what to make of this.  Jessica isn’t entirely articulate here.  She’s not saying that marriage is crap, as has been suggested by another website.  But she seems to be saying that there is an idea of marriage that doesn’t match what goes on in reality.   This is supported by another comment that she makes.

“And now the way they market marriage — even as a kid through Disney movies — is that it’s all about Prince Charming sweeping you off your feet. There’s this mentality that you need the big dress and the big day — the day every girl gets to be a princess. I didn’t agree with any of that. This tradition of obeying your husband like he’s your king? It’s a load of crap. Love and honor, yes. But you should love and honor yourself too, and all your friends.”

So is she happily married?  I’m not sure.  When asked why she tied the knot with Cash she says, “I chose to get married because, essentially, you’re given a deck of cards in life. The hand you were dealt with is your family and you can’t choose them.”

Do I hear bitterness?  Maybe she’s MiserAlba after all!  And maybe guys you still got a chance!

Jessica Alba’s getting back into the swing of things after giving birth to baby Honor. During her pregnancy, Jessica adopted a casual, maternal look, opting for over-sized floral cardigans and skinny jeans. She seems to be stepping back into the fashion spotlight after being spotted in this quirky look recently. I love this outfit on Jessica, there is a lot of celebrities that would utterly stupid wearing this but on she manages to make it look chic.

She went for a very layered look, which is always a good idea when it’s freezing outside! The hat adds a cute edge of the otherwise almost punk look  - the check shirt and boots are essential rock chick pieces! I love the socks and the fact that Jessica braves the pull ups too – they make the boots much more interesting. I think Jessica did a superb job at whipping up this fashion delight!
