Well, we can only hope that this is the end of the insanity that Anne Hathaway has been experiencing since news of her con fiancé came to light. Raffaello Follieri was arrested and charged earlier this year on charges of conspiracy, money laundering, and fraud. Anne was right in the thick of it all, and was a victim of his nasty ways and it is said that she had something to do with getting him arrested, as their split came only two weeks before an arrest by the FBI was made early in the summer.

As it stands now. Raffaello has developed a plea agreement to serve prison time, and he will be sentenced October 3rd. He has admitted in the plea that he tricked investors to purchase Catholic properties, and has also admitted to wire fraud, money laundering, conspiracy to launder funds, and an overall ‘misappropriation’ of funds to the tune of $2.4 million dollars. He has been in jail since his arrest in June, since, well, he couldn’t get his hands on his $21 million dollar bail bond, and thus won’t even have a few extra weeks of freedom before he is taken off for his sentence. His sentence will involve at least five years in prison, and his current time served will more than likely be included in that.

As far as misappropriation of funds, I doubt that many will have a difficult time wondering where it went, since his lifestyle matches the dollar signs accordingly. He held a $37 thousand dollar a month penthouse at Trump Tower, and well over $2 million dollars in jewelry assets. Part of his agreement will force him to hand over his assets and jewelry, and he will also be ordered additional financial restitution. It looks like Raffiello is not going to be a happy camper for a very long time, in fact, jail time will probably be the BEST of his days to come. And, by the sounds of it, Anne’s revenge has been exacted and hopefully she can now breathe a final sigh of relief and get on with her life.

This week the Republicans have been hitting the news hard for more reasons than one. Hot on the heels of the abbreviation of their scheduled convention matters being abrupted due to Hurricane Gustav, the Republican party met with their first real scandal of the Presidential election.

Presidential candidate John McCain first surprised the country, AND his party members and delegates by announcing Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska as his running mate for the election. And while the Republicans were still trying to close their gaping mouths over that issue, it came to light that Sarah Palin’s 17 year old daughter is 5 months pregnant.

To make matters even more complicated, this issue was only brought to light to dissuay any current rumors floating in the blogosphere pertaining to Sarah’s 4 month old baby who has Down’s Syndrome. The rumors had started that Sarah’s baby was in fact her 17 year old daughter’s, Bristol, and that Sarah was claiming it as her child to keep the heat off of a teen pregnancy. But, Bristol’s own pregnancy put that rumor to bed really quick.

And if the Palin family and Republican party thought that by bringing attention to this matter on the same day that American eyes were on Hurricane Gustav as it ravaged Louisiana this week, would weaken the story, they were wrong.

But don’t worry. The Republicans have generations of experience behind them when it comes to making a bad situation look good, and they were quick to say that yes, John McCain was well aware of the teen Presidency when he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate. And Sarah stands by her daughter who has chosen to keep the baby and marry the father. What may now be Sarah’s most famous statement in her already short political career is focused on this situation:

“Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support,” the Palins said.

Ok then! Let’s see what’s up next for the Palins and the Republican party shall we? If her career is STARTING this way, one can only wonder….

Sienna Miller has been under the spotlight quite a bit these days and it’s no wonder consider everyone in Hollywood considers her a homewrecker with her recent relationship with Balthazar Getty, a married man with four children. The media frenzy and cruelties got so bad when she was in Los Angeles she had to hop across the ocean to escape it all for some peace and quiet in her hometown of London, England.

But if Sienna thought she was going to get some respite for her dating woes, she was sadly mistaken, as seemingly the Brits are just as irritated with her as the American public. And oddly enough, she doesn’t understand why and says the media is applying a double standard to her. Oh yes, we know that it takes two to tango sweetheart, but when you mess with a man with as many responsibilities as Getty, you aren’t gonna come out looking all that sweet.

And let’s not forget that Mr. Getty is not exactly off the hook here, with a reputation as tarnished, if not more so, than hers. But do you think this is enough to make the two take a little break till this settles down? Oh no. When she left for London, Balthazar was not that far behind her, making the situation look worse. And, to top it off, Sienna is so ticked with the London press that she is intending to hightail it out of there as well. And yes….you know who is right on her tails…..Yep. These folks deserve whatever criticism they have coming to them, and then some I think. You know what they say about those made beds….

I tell ya, this Spears clan just can’t stay out of the news. Is it perhaps a little self inflicted? Hm, I wonder. We talked a little last week about Jamie Lynn and how her fiancé to be was in a little bit of hot water now that he has been caught in a cheating scandal. A cheating situation by the way that he involved himself in with an older woman while Jamie Lynn was pregnant with their daughter.

And one would think that this was enough to kick the baby daddy to the curb, but not for Jamie Lynn. Nope, she is standing by fiancé Casey Aldridge despite the fact that he’s a cheating rat snake.

Jamie Lynn has still been seen running errands in their hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana with her big heavy rock dangling from her hand, but has been in a little bit of hiding at her mom’s house ever since the chiquita Casey was messing with was splashed all over the cover of In Touch magazine.

Not surprisingly, Jamie new nothing about the affair until the tabloid spilled the beans, and ever the boyfriend in trouble, Casey says that`s simply because it never happened. The folks in Kentwood however LOVE to dish about this one, and they are more than a little suspicious about Casey.

Some of them have even added that this girlfriend of his is related to the Spears family in some odd way, making this scandal even a little weirder than it was to begin with. This girl in fact is no stranger to Jamie Lynn, and is the same girl that Jamie elbowed in the mouth last Spring.

Yep, good ol times in the Deep South folks. Jamie believes Casey, and is chalking it up to tabloid gossip, but you know….they still haven`t tied the knot so there is hope that this girl will have some sense stunned into her sooner or later.

Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty have been under some heat lately, and this is all due to the fact that Sienna has been dating a married man. A lot is coming out as to whether or not Balthazar was separated before he started seeing Sienna, and some people say it doesn’t really matter, she’s still a homewrecker.

It has been reported that Balthazar spent some time pleading with his wife to take him back, but if this is the case, why are they holing up together in an L.A. hotel as is being reported? Balthazar has not been allowed to move back into his home, per Rosetta’s orders, and has been ‘homeless’ for a while. So I guess shacking up with his girlfriend was the natural choice, because there must be NOWHERE else to live in Los Angeles.

The news that Balthazar was previously separated before Sienna is Sienna’s only saving grace in terms of her reputation, and she is hoping that will go public and loud to diminish her current ‘homewrecker’ status. Yes, she’s more worried about her career than her boyfriend’s marriage, but what does one expect.

She has even gone so far as to ask both Balthazar, and his wife Rosetta, to make public statements to the effect of the state of their marriage. She’s worried directors won’t consider her for roles now that she’s been branded with the adultress image. She seems to think that Hollywood ‘hates homewreckers’ and that her career will be ruined if he doesn’t help her clean it up.

I don’t think it’s Hollywood that hates homewreckers as much as AMERICA hates homewreckers. Hmmm….perhaps she’s never heard the story of a Jolie and a Pitt, non?

Surprisingly enough, Rosetta has refused to engage in the salvation of Sienna’s career, and won’t put out a statement. *GASP* In fact, Rosetta is saying now that their marriage wasn’t over, when he went to Europe it was supposed to see his sick mom in Germany, not to cozy up with a blonde in Prague.

Yes yes, as predicted, this just gets uglier and uglier. And Sienna seems to think that her career is more important to salvage than her boyfriend’s marriage to a woman who bore 4 children to him.

Here’s a thought Sienna. If you don’t want to LOOK like a homewrecker, don’t move in with your married boyfriend! One would think the whole Jude Law thing would have kept Sienna out of this mess. One would.

Well you know what they say, it takes two to tango. While she is gaining accolades for her work lately, Sienna Miller has been under even more public scrutiny for her relationship with Brothers and Sisters star Balthazar Getty.

And let’s not forget that Balthazar is a married man with four children, one of them a 9 month old daughter, and the two have been sizzling up the headlines with heated Italian vacations and topless pictures and on camera grope fests.

And of course, all of this publicity has not been received well by the wife in question, Rosetta, who immediately separated from her philandering husband. And now, Balthazar seems to have seen the error of his ways and has been begging Rosetta for forgiveness and is trying to make amends.

He’s been sending emails by the dozens and making repeated phone calls to profess his undying devotion to his wife, and that he wants to move back into the house with her. While all of this is going on, Sienna is suing the tabloid who published pictures of her topless for invasion of privacy.

All the while, there is no official report as to whether or not Balthazar has even ended things with Sienna. My guess would be that he has, if he is working that hard to get back with his wife, or, by a husbands standards, has made it LOOK like he’s ended things. Who knows.

Either way, this is one of those ugly ugly situations that is only going to get a LOT uglier before it gets any prettier.

Isn’t life ironic though? Here is Balthazar acting out a life hell that is mirroring his life on Brothers and Sisters. Guess his method acting will really work to his benefit this season!
