Finally, the theme I’ve been wanting them to do for years and there’s not a single contestant that I care about left. No MJ wearing a cape, leather gloves and half mask while singing Point of No Return? Our loss. But hopefully this will be better than S4’s Broadway trainwreck. I had these choices worked out a couple of weeks in advance (sad isn’t it?) so why let them go to waste?

Syesha
I’d Be Good For You - Evita [listen]
My favorite from Evita. Fabulous sultry song; it has a totally different vibe from what everyone else will do and it wont be the predictable melisma filled choice for her. Unfortunately, no one seems to know this song exists.

Carly
Memory - Cats
You Must Love Me - Evita [listen]
Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again - PotO [listen]
No one should sing any of Christine’s songs except for WYWSHA….maybe. The rest are just way too boring. Carly needs to tone it down, slow it down, show some real emotion and connect.

David A
Close Every Door - Joseph
Music of the Night - PotO
I want someone to tackle MotN; we definitely need to have some PotO in the mix. It’s one of the hardest songs to sing and I think only he can do it. Perfect for him to step it up.

David C.

Superstar - JCS
Phantom of the Opera - Nightwish

Brooke

Learn To Be Lonely - Minnie Driver [listen]
The only one I can think of that will fit her voice perfectly.

JCast
No Matter What - Boyzone [listen]
Any Dream Will Do - Joseph
Good luck.

    Hi! Thanks for sharing!

Nice song suggestions by the way.

I just listened to “Love Changes Everything” because its the only song in your list that I haven’t heard. :)

^That ones not only my list, heh, but I think some people did suggest that for some of the contestants.

  3. Amy Says:

I’d love to hear Carly sing “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” from Jesus Christ Superstar. It could be a good way to “tone it down, slow it down,” as you rightly said she needs to do.

I had originally thought it would be a good choice for Brooke, but she has really disappointed me with songs that should have been slam-dunks lately. So maybe she needs to try going a different route.

^That’s one a lot of people are suggesting for Brooke. Im not wild about the song, but then again I dont know much about JCS.

  5. Ang Says:

I’d LOVE to see some POTC on Idol, but I don’t know if anyone from the show can pull off those songs.

    ^Pirates of the Carribean?

  7. Kat Says:

I’d love to hear JCast on “Everything’s Alright” from JCS, but at this point I’m thinking he needs to match David Cook in the creativity department to keep getting praise from the judges, and EA won’t do that for him.

  8. Ang Says:

sorry I meant to say POTO.. I was watching POTC while typing that.

  9. Kim Says:

^I for one woould love to hear “yo ho yo ho, a pirates life for me” as the group song.

    Drink up me hearties.

Agree 100% with Amy - Carly should sing “I Don’t Know How to Love Him.” It’s a beautiful song, and could prove to be one of her finest moments on the show. And yes - I hope Brooke leaves it alone…
