American Idol 7: 7 to 6

Basically, the remaining guy contestants kicked the girls’ butts singing the songs of Mariah Carey on ‘American Idol’ season 7. Seems unlikely guys would do better with her music, doesn’t it? But, they did. So tonight, of the seven who remain, one must go home. Who will it be this week? And yes, we were absolutely robbed of Michael Johns last night, as Kim will agree, by not getting to hear him sing “Vision of Love.” Anyone else, like me, really want a David/David finale?

Kim: Bring back Josiah and the three of them will flood the studio Ruh roh! here comes the FlAmEs!1!1

Season six alum Elliot Yamin performed, with a touching message, ‘We Miss You Mom’ on his hand, and Mariah Carey performed as well.

The Bottom Three

Another season, and Ryan decided to divide everyone into groups. He left David Archuleta last, and asked him to choose which group (David Cook, Jason Castro, and Carly Smithson, or Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado, and Brooke White) he would think is the safe one. He sat down. It was cute, and funny. Then, David Cook joined him sitting in the middle of the stage as Ryan revealed David C., Jason Castro, and Carly Smithson were also safe. Syesha Mercado, Brooke White, and Kristy Lee Cook were in the bottom three. Syesha was safe, leaving Brooke and Kristy Lee Cook.

The Person Going Home Is

Tiff: Kristy Lee Cook, apparently having used the last of her nine lives.

Kim: RIGGED, RIGGED, RIGGED. Remember how I said she might get Sanjaya’d last night? Yup. Two weeks in a row the only non boring contestants who have been gaining any momentum in the competition get the boot. And babbling Brooke is allowed to suck week after week. Jason fans, get ready to vote!

Next week the six bland contestants take on the works of the amazing Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. Maybe that will make it more tolerable.

Kristy Lee NEVER should have made the top 12.. It’s about time she’s gone.

  2. Kimberly Says:

^And she’ll be makin’ more than you.

  3. Buddy Says:

Brooke? Who knew that the Evangelical Christian Nanny guild was so big. And voted as a block. And watched Idol.

  4. Madelyn Says:

I’ll miss Kristy; I’d begun to really like her; wish it had been the boring and babbling Brooke that had left; can’t look at her facial contortions much longer

You know, I started out the season hating Kristy Lee for all the usual reasons, and I still don’t think she’s an AMAZING singer, but she grew on me. She did what she could every week, she really never copped an attitude, she seemed to be having fun, and handled her underdog status with class and a bit of self-deprecation. I can’t exactly say I’m SORRY to see her gone, but I do wish her success, and I’m sure she’ll do well in the country music genre (although …doesn’t everyone?). Good luck, KLC.

I actually was surprised that KLC went home last night. I was so not a fan but she was kind of growing on me. I sort of thought that Carly was going to get the boot.
I’m sorry but I so don’t see the appeal of little David A. He sounds soooo adult contemporary, which is wrong for such a young kid. Cute but just not my type of music.
I do want to see David C make it the finale., And as much as I hate to say it - I do think it will be a boy/girl finale….. it seems to turn out the way, at least for the past three seasons.

  7. Kimberly Says:

^Yep, IA w/ you guys on Kristy. Who’s gonna pick on Simon now? Sigh…
