American Idol Top 24 Spoilers

Remember when I posted a list of some of the the top 50 contestants, and how exciting it was to see so many musicians and singer songwriters make the cut? Well on Wednesday they cut the group down to the top 24 and just about any contestant with individuality and artistic integrity was sent packing (more about this later). Good job, producers! Instead, a handful of rockers, 3 guys named David, 29493 blonde bimbos and a bunch of effeminate 16 year old boys were chosen in their place. Read on for names and photos

They skipped his audition. All I know about him is that he’s Nigerian, he’s an R&B singer and he tried out last year as well. Will he scam his way into our hearts??

I have reason to believe that he might be our new Sanjaya. Seriously I hope this guy is as crazy as everyone is expecting him to be.

Garrett Haley
Didn’t he win Canadian Idol??

I don’t like this guy.

He was on making the band and now he’s a country singer.

Michael Johns
After watching this guys audition video again (and again….and again….and again) I think he could actually do really, really well. He kind of reminds me of a cross between Taylor and DAUGHTRY (aka the worst nightmare for many).

Robbie Carrico
This guy dated Britney Spears for a while and was a total Justin Timberlake dollar store knock off and now he’s a rocker. Mmmhmmm. They may or may not show him on Tuesday.

David Cook

My favorite girl, by far. She could be really boring or do really well, I really can’t make a prediction here.

Hated her audition, but I might end up liking her because there aren’t many other choices.

Joanne Borgella
She’s a successful plus sized model and she won Monique’s Fat Chance.

Kady Malloy
Another one who I didn’t care for in the audition rounds, but she seems to be at the top of the heap at least for the girls. If only she wasn’t so plastic!

Kristy Lee Cook
Gross.

Syesha Mercado

Ramielle Mulababy
I heard an MP3 of her and I wasn’t that impressed with her voice. We may see her audition on Tuesday.

She’s mysterious, ya’ll. All we know about her is that she was in a BAD car accident a week before Hollywood and even had to be airlifted from the scene because of a head injury.  Apparently she’s a rocker.

So basically, they’re pushing for another DAUGHTRY, another Carrie, or another Kelly. Everyone else is cannon fodder.

There were cuts that were surprising to a lot of people, like Cardin McKinney who got a lot of attention for her looks, Drew Popperlocker (whatever his last name was), Colton Swon, fingernail collector Brandon Green and for me, my number one choice, Josiah Leming.

Apparently this kid was a LOCK with the judges but it was producer Nigel Lythgoe who was against the idea of including contestants who didn’t have a sound they could “mold”, so he along with other unique contestants got the boot (and this isn’t just my speculation; it’s what the sources are saying and a few of the contestants, via their myspace pages). Sucks for us.
