Project Runway 4: Top 10 Designers
Posted by Kim on January 3rd, 2008 filed in TV, project runway season 4Project Runway FINALLY made it’s return last night. Ugh, that hiatus on top of the writers strike was just brutal. Anyways, the challenge for yesterdays episode was for the designers to raid the Hersheys store in NY and use whatever they could find there to make an outfit. I was kind of dissapointed that they weren’t limited to candy only; that would’ve forced them to be a bit more creative, plus most of the outfits came out the same colors. But the episode was good because there were several super cute designs:

I thought Ricky was the most creative of the designers (and that says a lot, coming from him). Why wasn’t he on the floor in the top 3? That surprised me.

Chris’ dress was great too. I would totally wear this, it makes such a hip party dress.

Christian’s look wasn’t bad, but he could’ve done better. Nothing really innovative here.
Now on to who won. It was between Rami and Jillian, with Rami winning. Neither outfits were my faves but I can see why they picked Rami; his “construction” and detailing was intricate, as usual, but he still managed to not make it look silly and over the top, which could’ve been done easily, as Michael Kors said. I can see where the judges were coming from from that perspective.
I didn’t like what Jillian did, it looks like a bordello to me.
And of course someone had to be in the bottom. Elisa’s dress looked like something Elisa would do. Those sleeves were ridiculous; without them, the dress wasn’t that bad but it still would’ve been boring. Nothing she does has any direction.
And honestly I don’t see what was so bad about Victorya’s look. There could have been a few less ruffles, sure, but I thought the model looked like a little barbie.
Lastly Sweat Pea just didn’t do anything at all. The first dress she made probably wouldn’t have fared better either.
Elisa got the boot, and rightly so.
Next week I think they’re dressing either pregnant women or toddlers.
Oh and did anyone check out that show Make Me A Supermodel? It looks like it might be good! Hopefully they can recapture what ANTM used to be.

I loved Ricky’s too! It was really his first success, so I’m proud of him. His dress is totally the fashion equivalent of a Hershey’s kiss!
I love that Jillian tried food. I liked the concept, but the top fit her model very poorly.
And Christian better watch his snarky comments…they might come back to bite him.
