Project Runway 4: Top 11 Designers
Posted by Kim on December 13th, 2007 filed in TV, project runway season 4This weeks challenge was a pretty interesting one. The designers had to create new clothes for women who lost between 45 and over 100lbs out of their old garments. And it was pretty funny when Steven got stuck with a huge beaded wedding dress; I bet they told that lady to pick that just to cause drama!
And speaking of drama, the show started out with just that. Jack actually left the show after getting a staph infection. It’s a shame he had to make that choice, they should bring him back next year. But for now they brought back Chris to take his place.

Chris almost got eliminated again with his design. I actually think it looks better in this picture than it did on TV, but the whole thing just looks kinda cartoonish to me. Like they mentioned on the show, he really needs to try harder to break out of the costumey mold.

I kind of have issues with what Kevin did. It’s really cute, but it’s a shame he had to use leggings and I also don’t think it’s age appropriate for the woman who’s wearing it. But despite all of that I think he was the most innovative, without going over the top of course.

I’m still sightly surprised that Christian managed to slip by with a win in this challenge. I mean the whole outfit is cute and I absolutely love the jacket, but he wasn’t as creative as Kevin. How many times is he going to do a cropped puff sleeve jacket? Heck, if he makes it fashion week he’ll probably do a whole collection of them.

The judges mainly got on Elisa’s case because they thought her outfit didn’t fit the woman’s personality. All the layers were what bothered me the most, I mean the layers didn’t add anything to the look and it wasn’t the most flattering thing on her figure.

I don’t know why the judges raved about Jillian’s dress. We’ve all seen a dress in this style before, she didn’t add much of her own touch to it and on top of that, she didn’t follow the rules. The back piping was the only thing she used from the original garment. I’m surprised they went easy on her for that.

Getting the boot tonight was Steven. I wasn’t sure which way they were going to go, but between him and Elisa it could’ve been either way. This dress reminded me of an amish woman or some kind of a uniform that a nurse or a maid would wear. Sorta. So yeah, it was pretty bad.

Also, I was kind of surprised Rami’s look wasn’t in the top 3; I thought it was one of the best on the runway.

And I thought Kit’s model looked like a fabric store exploded on her but she was safe.
Oh boy, I can’t even remember the what’s supposed to happen next week! Sorry guys, it’s really late here.
