Isaac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson have been in Africa for several days delivering 50,000 pairs of TOMS shoes to children in need. The band came up with the idea of “the walk,” a theme for their latest studio album. At each tour stop, TOMS shoes are available, and for every pair fans buy, the band personally purchased a pair for a child in need. Also, at each tour stop, Hanson encouraged fans to meet for a one-mile walk for the cause. The band walked along with fans, often barefoot, to raise awareness for the pressing need faced by so many.

The band originally began their African charitable effort in November of 2006, when they donated every proceed from the sale of their single ‘Great Divide’ to African hospitals.
