CelebrityGossip.com is the newest celeb gossip mash up site to hit the web. There have been a lot of sites popping up recently that cash in on the celebrity blog and news craze, and offer celebrity sites more exposure (although apparently this doesn’t apply to GTS, because I don’t see any stories from our site being linked from theirs…tsk tsk!).

At first glance it looks like there are a few things that CG is trying to do to set themselves apart. Members can rate each celebrity gossip news story, and each story links to a bunch of other blogs and their takes on it. Also users can sign up and earn points when they refer friends and earn magazine subscriptions. Good idea for an incentive, it definitely ties in with the theme of the site, but adding a variety of prize choices would probably make it even more enticing.

The layout is adorable; that’s probably my favorite part of the site.  The entire concept is a good one and people will definitely enjoy it, but there are a few tweaks that could improve the site. When I look at it I don’t feel like much is going on; I would recommend that they do something to increase interactivity, such as showing a preview of the comments on the main page instead of links to the same story on other websites. Adding features to track the latest celeb pictures and videos, as well as something focusing on new members, would enhance the site a bit also.

CelebrityGossip.com is definitely off to a good start with plenty of room to grow. It should be great source for up to the minute gossip from a variety of online sources. Check the site out and their celebrity database and see it for yourself!
