Greasy Pete Doherty Headin’ for the Clink

Oh, don’t look so surprised, this was just a sentence waiting to happen with this dude. Pete Doherty has been sentenced to a 14 day jail term for his chronic drug use coupled with the fact that he can’t be bothered to appear for his probation hearings.

We all know he likes the naughty candy, but not appearing in court for it? Just dumb. His sentence is for ‘breach of time keeping, non compliance of his order, and for using different drugs’.

And of course, he thinks he’s worthy of an appeal, and this is in the works. Because you know, he would hate for it to interrupt his tour schedule. My my, no, we wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on WORK because of their jail sentence, now would we?

And I guess his record label, Parlophone feels the same way, and are less than optimistic. His Royal Albert Hall concert is already in the works for being rescheduled. But you know, Pete DOES offer his apologies to the fans.

Hafta say, I’m not the biggest fan of this one so perhaps being off the radar will be a nice breath of non-greasy air. But even 14 days away for Pete seems a little too short.
