Fashion Week Wrap Up

Better late than never!
What was Zac Posen thinking when he designed his new collection?? This dress very well may be the most HIDEOUS thing I’ve ever seen on a runway. It looks like big street sweeper.

….and the grand finale of the show was a presentation of these three poofy, foamy dresses. Not quite as ugly, but ugly none the less. To me it seems like he’s trying to be avant garde just for the sake of being avant garde. I would say he should take a note out of Galliano’s page but I think he’s already done that.
Now for what I DID like from his collection:
MONIQUE LHULIER

Monique Lhullier is one of my absolute favorites! This season a lot of her pieces had sort of an ethereal or a goddess feel to them; very much up my alley. I’ve liked some of her past collections slightly more but I still love these.

AURELIO COSTARELLANever heard of this line before, but they had a few cute pieces.
CARMEN MARC VALVO

This dress is stunning! Love it. Carmen Marc has some cute swim suits for us for Spring as well…
MARC JACOBS

In his Marc by Marc Jacobs collection it looks like he tried to use the same approach of combining multiple garments that he did for LV with that hideous anniversary bag. Fail and fail again.

Oh and it looks like there is a bit of controversy over his main line. Apparently Marc “pulled a Britney” by making everyone wait two hours for his runway show and then the show itself was weak. Seriously, waiting that long for something that lasts about 10 minutes is absurd! And these clothes are ridiculously ugly, it looks like the Goodwill exploded on the models. I hear there are rumors that Marc will be moving his shows to Paris because he doesn’t like the negative press he’s getting. All I have to say is don’t let the door hit you on the backside when you go!
MARCHESA

There’s really nothing that sets this apart from their past collections but their things are absolutely gorgeous, as usual.
A couple pretties from Jovovich Hawk.
BABY PHAT

Trashy chic, as usual.

This look from Miss Sixty is FIERCE!
That’s it for my highlights. Nothing blew me away this season, but there were some nice things. It looks like tribal will be in for spring and we’ll all be wearing some pretty dark colors!
