Drew Barrymore Launches Makeup Line At Walmart

You read that right – Drew Barrymore launched a makeup line sold exclusively at Walmart! Most celebrities and fashion designers who branch out into cosmetics work with high-end beauty brands and retailers, but Barrymore is bringing us her debut makeup line Flower with the help from the nation’s largest discount retailer.

Flower isn’t your average drugstore brand though. From the time she started developing the brand, Barrymore says she recognized that “mass makeup is so great right now” and that it’s “really at the top of its game.” In order to differentiate her products from the rest, she chose to focus on the formula and packaging instead of spending a ton of money on advertising.

In addition to this unique approach to the line, Drew’s passion for makeup also helped the product development process. The actress has been exposed to plenty of makeup throughout her time in the entertainment industry as well as during her stint as a spokeswoman for CoverGirl, so she knew exactly what she wanted to create. She says she even saved all of the old makeup from “forever and ever and ever ago” that she loved in order to determine what new products she wanted to make. She wanted to provide customers with things similar to what she’s loved, things that have been discontinued, and combinations of two or more great products. Drew tested most of the products herself to make sure everything down to the texture of the powder puff was exactly how she wanted it to be!

Aside from providing a product she believed in, Drew’s goal for Flower was also to encourage women to feel good about themselves. Her motto for the line is, “you’re already beautiful, now let’s play.” She wants women to feel empowered and playful when putting on makeup rather than trying to follow strict rules or make themselves look like supermodels.

The line consists of primers, concealers, foundations, powders, blushes, eye shadows, mascaras, lipsticks and glosses, and nail polishes and nothing costs more than $15! The collection is sure to disappear from stores quickly, so stop by Walmart today or check out their website to get your hands on the line before it’s gone.
