Did Jordin Sparks Lie About Vocal Training?

It’s been almost an entire week since Jordin Sparks unfortunately took the title of American Idol, and in typical Hollywood fashion, she’s already got some trouble on her hands. Jordin claimed to have no formal vocal training, but vocal coach Melissa Black begs to diffah. She claims that Jordin used to take 30 minute voice lessons once a week with her when she was about 14 years old. The vocal coach says she was hurt when Jordin failed to acknowledge her, and also adds that “Jordin didn’t have to mention my name, but at least acknowledge you had training.”

I, personally, couldn’t even remember Jordin saying she didn’t train, but the proof is up on her AmericanIdol.com profile:

To me, it’s obvious Jordin’s voice has been trained at least somewhat (not to mention she has that same lack of creativity/artistry/emotion that many trained singers seem to have). But who knows, this vocal coach could’ve pulled the whole thing out of you know where!
