David Archuleta’s “Crush” Video Leaks
Posted by Kim on September 8th, 2008I know there’s like a MILLION things going on right now with the VMA’s and everything, and I almost missed this! Apparently David Archuleta’s video for his first single “Crush” leaked today. I’ll be back with comments once I watch it. Check it out below:

The verdict: the video is okay; at least it doesn’t look like it costs $2.50 like “Tattoo” or “Break Anotha”. It’s good that they’re taking him the “mature” root but it was a bit too serious at some points. And I didn’t really like the color filters they used either. They also gave him a pretty bad haircut. Other than that, it’s exactly what I expected. The part at the beginning with him playing the piano on the peir was a nice touch!

I liked the song. The video made me sad – like they hired a bunch of “fake friends” to be around him – NOBODY has ALL good looking beautifully shaped friends. pffft.

Loved it! It fits him and David’s “looks” into the camera and his “looks” at the object of his crush are seriously “potent” stuff. Go look again. Nothing will happen to you, I promise.

Absolutely perfect video for this song. Jive got it right on the money! Totally exceeded my expectations!
Sweet, innocent, lovable, cute as Archie is! The piano by the water… the soft light… and the smile at the end is way better than a kissing scene! They managed to show so many sides of him. I love his expressions and the feeling he puts into the song… He plays the piano, the guitar, he can actually act… or just stay there just being archadorable… and… oh, the vocals that melt anyone´s heart!

This video complements the song perfectly. It will have appeal to David’s fans in the tween/teen set, as well as the older fans. Jive has shown respect for the person and the artist that David is – they haven’t tried to shoehorn him into an image that runs counter to who he is… that’s part of his appeal – … the shy, humble, sometimes awkard but extraordinarily talented teenager on the cusp of manhood…. for that I am grateful. Kudos David – WELL DONE ON YOUR FIRST VIDEO. Your foot is in the door now, and this video will open it to a much wider audience than you could ever have IMAGINED…. Your fans are proud of all you’ve accomplished in this past year, and are behind you all the way.

I love this video. It is perfect. A natural setting, David sounds amazing. Simple and those eyes and smile at the end, priceless. Great job David Congratulations. I am sure there will always be negative people looking at this and finding things wrong with it. The best thing is David is adorable and he sounds GREAT!

Wow, I was worried because of the limited time for the shoot because of the tour schedule, but this turned out really nice. David looks and sounds great and I liked how they handled the big notes he intertwines with the melody at the end. As usual, David connects with the song and puts genuine emotion into it. Very Nice!
