Dancing With The Stars, Week 1

There really wasn’t a lot of positive buzz online when the cast of the latest season of DWTS was announced.  But I think they proved most people wrong the first week out of the gate! Well, maybe not Josie Maran and her partner because they got the axe first.  I didn’t even see her dance but I could’ve told you she would get the boot; models never last long on the show.

That or maybe David Blaine jinxed her. Who knows.

Anyhoo, on to the good people….

 I know this video has been posted EVERYWHERE, but Sabrina Ryan tore it up with her Cha Cha!  It’s amazing that anyone could be that good the first week.

Mel B. from the Spice Girls is teamed up with Maksim Chmerkovsky (yeah, I spelled that wrong; deal.) this year.  The judges seemed to like this but I thought it was sort of….lazy? I don’t know, they could be a really hot couple but they haven’t brought it yet.

Cheryl Burke FINALLY gets a bad partner!  I know he’s like 80 years old, but Wayne Newton dances like Frakenstein.

 Julianne Hough is paired with race car driver Helio Castrasomethingorother.  Boring style, but their performance was awesome. He’s surprisingly very good, and Julianne is a great teacher for being so young.  Maybe she’ll take her second title this year.

I’ve never heard or seen Albert Reed before but I already can’t stand him.  His dancing is cheesy and he acts like 6 year old.   And if you’re going to get a male model, at least get a hot one.

Oh, and I have to talk about Floyd Mayweather.  The judges giving him the lowest score out of all twelve partners was absolutely ridiculous! I mean, he wasn’t amazing but at least he gave a good performance, and he was definitely better than Wayne Newton or Mark Cuban.  Thankfully the viewers were smarter than the

Am I weird for being more interested in the professional dancers that the “stars”?  I think toward the end we’ll still be seeing all of the same star pro’s still around, like Karina, Juliane, Edyta and Maks.  And maybe Cheryl, ’cause Wayne Newton will get the Jerry Springer vote.
