Glee actor Cory Monteith was tragically found dead in his hotel room on Sunday. The 31-year-old had struggle with drug addiction and recently spent a brief 4-week stint in a facility and when he exited, it appeared as though he had made it to a better place, free of his addiction. He was in Vancouver to work on a charity project just days before he died – the actor attended a dinner with Maureen Webb, the founder of charity ‘Project Limelight Society’ alongside his manager Elena Kirschner. According to Maureen, she was surprised to see Cory so upbeat and healthy looking:

“He looked so good, so healthy, I hadn’t seen him look that good in a long time.”

Maureen says they enjoyed “a quiet night with a lot of laughing” just two days before he died. Cory told Maureen that he was keen to become more involved with the charity which he had worked with since 2011:

“I told him, ‘I remember everything we talked about when we first talked about this project. Now it’s happening.’ His face just lit up. He was in great spirits.”

Cory had spent the night prior to his death out with his friends before making his way back to his hotel room alone. The next morning, he was found dead. An autopsy report is still pending to determine the cause of death.
