Cher Upset Over Oscars Snub
Posted by Pamela on January 26th, 2011Singer Cher was left disappointed when the Oscar nominations were revealed yesterday – she doesn’t understand why her latest film, Burlesque missed out on a nomination for best song. The writer behind the song in question, Diane Warren who wrote the power ballad song You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me already won a Golden Globe for the tune, which is why Cher was left upset when the same song was ignored for the Oscars. The singer took to her official Twitter account:
“We didn’t get a nomination 4 best song! That sucks! Diane’s song is so beautiful! It’s hard to understand how u win the Golden Globe 4 Best Song & not even get nominated by the Oscars?”
Cher says that perhaps the song would have been nominated if she hadn’t been the one singing it:
“Maybe she would have had a better chance if someone else was singing it ?! It just can’t b her song.”
I don’t think films starring Christina Aguilera are generally taken too seriously during the nomination process – but hey, at least she has that lovely, shiny Golden Globe right Cher?
