The Row by Mary Kate & Ashley Posted by Kim on 30 Apr 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's kind of frustrating being a non working, ex fashion student, and seeing people get into stores with stuff like this! Yes, this is been the much anticipated high end fashion line from Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen called The Row. Prices on the line will start at $150 for Modal tank tops, $360 for leggings, $875 for strapless dresses and $1700 for cashmere tuxedo dresses. Um, yeah, I think this line pretty much explains everything that's wrong with high end fashion right now, but I promise not to get all preachy on you! Who really wants to emulate girls who look like hobos, anyways?
Trend Alert: Rompers Posted by Kim on 27 Apr 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attention shoppers: rompers aren't JUST for toddlers anymore. Another "odd trend of the moment" is one piece rompers for adults, coming in style. I'd like to think designers are just running out of ideas, but I guess this goes hand in hand with the overalls trend. Earlier this week Nicole Richie was caught sporting a very glam, shiny one piece outfit and the girl knew how to WORK it! Sure, SHE looked cute, but we're not all built like broomsticks.
Here are a few of the different styles I found while shopping online:
Ugly High Waisted Jeans Posted by Kim on 24 Apr 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's no bigger fashion victim in Hollywood than Mischa Barton. If ever there's ANYONE who's style mistakes we can learn from, it's definetly her. This girl jumps head first into any new trend that hits the market without stopping to look in the mirror first, and I think this picture is a great example of that! I don't even need to tell you what's wrong with this long.....that's probably because EVERYTHING is wrong with this look.
Trend Alert: Colored Jeans?? Posted by Kim on 22 Apr 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's the newest trend that the Gods and Goddesses of fashion are trying to shove down our throats? Colored jeans. I've kind of liked where fashion has been going lately but that all came to a screeching halt when these hit the shelves! Okay, maybe they're kind of fun, but colored jeans aren't all that flattering (and those red one are hideous!). If I were to wear this trend, I'd probably opt for the yellow bermuda's or a pair of white walking shorts. Actually, I love white jeans, but that doesn't exactly count as a color, does it?
Victoria Beckham's $140,000 Birthday Posted by Kim on 18 Apr 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's a list of all the lavish gifts Victoria Beckham was showered with on her 33rd Birthday yesterday:
- $50,000 that her husband spent to fly her to Paris, by private jet, of course. - $12,000 a night to stay at the Ritz-Carleton. - $14,000 dropped the dress pictured above, by Azzedine Alaia. - $3000 for a pair of couture Louboutins.
I know I praised her style yesterday, but I seriously think those shoes look ridiculous. Cute dress though. And how much fun would it be to be able to drop THAT much cash at a whim? Ah, to be rich and famous....
Victoria Beckham In Paris Posted by Kim on 17 Apr 2007

David and Victoria Beckham headed to Paris to celebrate her 33rd birthday with a shopping trip. Don't you just LOVE how she can take a simple tank top and jeans and make it look so stylish? I sure do.
Jessica Simpson Hair Extensions Posted by Kim on 12 Apr 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you watch TV, I’m sure you’ve seen the infomercial for Jessica Simpson’s line of hair extensions. I was really skeptical about this product (as I am with any celebrity endorsed product). But I’ve actually read a lot of “testimonials” on random message boards, complete with pictures, and it seems that they really work. They look very natural too, even the synthetic hair.
Right now WigShop.com is the leading wig store on the web and in addition to carrying Jessica Simpson’s line, they also have a variety of wigs for all ethnicities, synthetic and natural, as well as clip-ons and extensions. On top of that proceeds from all sales go to charity. The human hair looks a lot more natural; some of their wigs run from $59 to $179 but Jessica Simpson’s human hair extensions are $500. Pricey!
My favorite look is the 23” Wavy Clip In Extension. I saw a girl who used these and tied her hair in a side pony tail and it was just ADORABLE. I’ve actually been considering extensions for a while, and I just might try these.
Worst Outfit Ever Posted by Kim on 12 Apr 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday Britney Spears was caught coming out of the Millenium Dance studio complete with red bull in hand, wearing this disasterous get up. She's got an oversized dress on with a tank top underneath, a hat, boots AND leg warmers. Makes no sense. How in the world did she manage to dance under all those layers? That's one video I hope lands on youtube.
Trend: Sailor Shorts Posted by Kim on 04 Apr 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I saw these sailor style shorts in Express the other day and I thought they were pretty....weird, to be honest. I do really like unique pieces, but when it comes to bottoms I stick to basics 98% of the time. The store had a ton of them left, so either they had just been put out or people weren't that interested (probably the latter). I had some free time on my hands so I said "what the hey" and tried the suckers on.
They were CUTE.
What I like about these shorts is that they look sort of tailored, and even though the fabric doesn't look casual they feel like you're relaxing in a pair of sweats. They fit in a way that reminds me of the pleated front shorts, but without all that ugly menswear-esque construction. Best of all, these short's are TOO short. And this is coming from someone who mainly wear shorts that are "too short". They're a comfortable length and would look great with a wide variety of tops; and the buttons down the front made a really cool effect.
The style comes in beige, black and white. In the end I didn't end up buying them because I opted for a pair of beige bermuda's in the same fabric/color and a pair of really casual black shorts. But I've gotta go back and snatch a pair soon, even if they look almost identical to the bermuda's! You just can't beat $34.95!
