We Can Blame Kanye for Kim Kardashian’s Singing Career

Now we know who to blame for Kim Kardashian‘s recent foray in to music – Kanye West. According to Kim, she only gave it a go because a few people convinced her it was worth trying out, and it was mostly Kanye’s influence that won her over. Kim’s debut song is called ‘Turn it Up’. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star commented:

“OK, I’m not a singer, this isn’t what I do. I have too much other stuff going on. And Kanye was actually one of the people who really talked me into doing it and telling me, like, ‘Hey, look, what do you guys do for fun? You guys go shopping, you go to the movies. Kind of step into our world for a second and have fun.”

Kim worked alongside producer The-Dream for the single, and she insists she isn’t hoping to make singing a full-time career – it’s purely for fun:

“I’m just doing it for fun, and The-Dream wrote and produced the song, and Ciara talked me into doing it and said I should meet with him.”

Kim also says that her single will benefit a good cause – some of the proceeds will go to a cancer organization, which is something close to her heart:

“Dream’s mother passed away of cancer and so did my dad, so half of the proceeds are going to a cancer organization. It’s just one song, and it’s just for fun.”

The single doesn’t have a confirmed launch date yet.
