Ashlee Simpson is Off the Market!

Ashlee has been linked to hunky Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz for a while now, and he’s put a ring on her finger. No, no, not an engagement ring, a promise ring. Which, back in the day meant a promise to become engaged *someday*. And in 2008, well I will assume it means the same thing though it’s been a while since I heard that term.

I never really thought that people were still doing the ‘promise ring’ thing. I mean, it’s a typical man gesture. I can’t commit, but I will commit to commit *one day*. Ashlee says it’s only because he hasn’t officially asked her dad yet. So if Dad doesn’t know yet, what did she think announcing it on TV was going to do? Hmm.

But Ashlee is quick to say ‘and no, I’m not pregnant’. Honey, you’re not even engaged yet. You got a ring from a rock star that means…whatever. But you know how girls are. Once the M word starts getting talked about (even if not solidified) they go crazy. She’s probably got her dress already designed.
