Arnold Will Give Maria Shriver “Very Generous” Settlement

Maria Shriver filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday, and Arnold is already planning on paying out “a very generous divorce settlement.” According to Radar Online, Arnold is considering giving Maria more than half of their assets. Under California law, the assets would normally be split 50/50 between the former couple, but not in this case. With Schwarzenegger’s net worth estimated somewhere between $500 million and $750 million dollars, Shriver will definitely walk away from the divorce with a lot of money.

Arnold’s reasoning for giving Maria so much? He supposedly “realizes he is to blame for the collapse of his marriage.” He recognizes the fact that he can’t ever make up for what he put her and his children through, so he’s trying his hardest to do the right thing from now on. Lawyers for both sides add that the divorce will be handled by a private judge so that the case won’t play out in the media.
