Oh, Mr. Slightly Off Man – is that a camera in your pants? Or are you just happy to see us?

A crafty, sleazy man with dreams of becoming “MacGyver” or Macgruber was arrested over the weekend and charged with video voyeurism, the Tampa Tribune reported. He is accused of trying to videotape up women’s skirts by using a camera hooked up to his foot. Genius.

When cops arrested William Wright, 53, in an area Publix supermarket, they found computer flash drives, a trigger device and two wires falling out of his pocket, police said. The actual camera was in Wright’s pants and a lens was attached to his shoe.

Wright purportedly followed chicks in the supermarket wearing skirts or dresses until they got into a check-out line, said George Kajtsa, a spokesman with the St. Petersburg Police Department.

That’s when his slick moves kicked in. Literally.

Police say Wright then slid his foot closer to the women when he was just so far away, Kajtsa said. And that foot was taking pictures.

He was released from jail on his own recognizance shortly thereafter, according to Pinellas County Jail records.

The female shopper who fingered Wright, as it were, had seen him at the local Wal-Mart and, previously, the same Publix, Kajtsa said. Both times the woman suspected he was videotaping up women’s skirts, he said.

She lost sight of Wright both times. The woman spotted the suspect on Saturday and quickly told an employee to chase down the manager and cops were also called, Kajtsa said.
