Some of these stars have killed someone on purpose, and have since served time for their conviction (some even walked free) while others have accidentally killed a person, which must have caused much anger and pain for themselves and the families involved. Here are 6 famous stars who have all been found to have killed someone in the past.
Snoop Dogg and his bodyguard, McKinley Lee, were put on trail after a member of a rival gang, Philip Woldemariam, was gunned down. During the trial both Snoop and his guard were found not guilty on grounds of self-defense – this hasn’t stopped Snoop from enjoying a hugely successful career.
Music Producer Phil Spector stood trial after actress Lana Clarkson was found shot to death in his mansion. He claimed that Lana shot herself, but several people close to Spector came forward to say that they’d been held at gun point by him in the past. The first trial resulted in a hung jury, but after a second trial, he was found guilty and is now serving time – he was sentenced to 19 years to life.
OJ Simpson has to be one of the most famous stars who went on trail for murder – but to this day, no one knows for sure. He was however found to be not guilty of murder, but instead was found responsible for the wrongful deaths of his wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman, by a civil court. Some believe he was framed, some say the police were racist – well, there are dozens of theories.
Boxing promoter Don King has killed at least two people. The first was Hilary Brown, who he shot in the back – in court it was found to be a justifiable homicide – Brown was attempting to rob King. 13 years later, Don was put on trail for the murder of Sam Garrett, one of his employees who owed him a small sum of money. He was accused of stomping Garrett to death – he later served under 4 years in prison.
Actress Rebecca Gayheart accidentally killed a nine-year-old boy named Jorge Cruz, Jr. The boy was crossing the road (not using a crosswalk) when a few cars stopped to allow the boy to cross safely. Gayheart did not see the boy, and veered around the cars so she wouldn’t have to stop. She struck the boy as she entered the left turn lane of the road – she was also found to be talking on her cell phone at the time. In court, Gayheart pleaded no contest to vehicular manslaughter and was sentenced to three years’ probation, a one-year suspension of her license, a $2,800 fine and 750 hours of community service. Later, a civil lawsuit from the Cruz family was settled out of court.
in 1987, Matthew was with his then girlfriend Jennifer Grey. The couple were driving along a country road in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, when their vehicle veered onto the wrong side of the road, and crashed into another car. The other car had two passengers – 30-year-old Anna Gallagher and her 63-year-old mother Margaret Doherty – both were killed instantly upon collision. Matthew spent a month in hospital recovering from the accident, and suffered from memory loss so couldn’t explain how it had happened. He was initially charged with causing death by dangerous driving, but this was later reduced to careless driving – Matthew only incurred a $175 fine.
