5 Stars Who’ve Defended New Moms & Their Baby Weight Gain

No new mom should have to listen to weight criticism when they’ve just given birth and these 5 stars have all stood up for new moms and their baby weight gain. Saying that it is nothing short of horrible to call out a new mom for putting on a few pounds that she hasn’t shifted instantly, these stars felt the need to defend those who’ve just gone through a pregnancy and shouldn’t have to immediately focus on weight loss when they should just be happy to have welcomed a healthy baby and be enjoying motherhood. The media seem increasingly harsh on new moms as of late, and these celebrities want an end to calling new mothers names because it’s ridiculous and unfair, while setting an impossible standard which shouldn’t be important to any new mother.

Defending her own post-baby body, Kristen said that she doesn’t want to pressure herself: “I refused to worry about something I could not change, and I still refuse. Look, I’m like any other woman, I had to surrender to not worrying about the way I looked, how much I weighed, because that’s just part of the journey of having a baby. I am not a woman whose self-worth comes from her dress size.”
