5 Stars Who Entertain Themselves by Playing Bingo Regularly

Bingo appears to be making a cool comeback as of late, with several stars admitting that they love to play the game and think it’s a fun way to pass the time. Some used to be Bingo callers in the past and have since returned to the game to become regular players. For others, it’s a way to remind them of home, such as Catherine Zeta Jones who hosts an annual Bingo party each year to remind her of the fun times she had playing Bingo as a little girl and she gifts the winners with cool prizes at the end of the night. It can be a way to relax, as is the case for Gary Barlow, who kicks back with his ‘Take That’ band members while on tour and has a game with all of the crew.

Catherine Zeta Jones

Catherine remembers playing Bingo as a little girl and although her husband Michael Douglas might not understand, she loves to play. A close friend revealed: “It’s something Catherine has done since she was a little girl growing up in Wales. She used to make all the balls with numbers on them, the cards and organise the prizes and she still plays now only she probably doesn’t have to make it. Michael thinks it’s a bizarre game, especially all that bingo lingo, but it’s a bit of fun and last year he won a nice bottle of aftershave.”

Gary Barlow

‘Take That’ singer Gary is a big fan of Bingo. His tenth wedding anniversary party included a big group game and these days the band play it together: “I used to be a bingo caller when I was first starting out. I used to love reading out the numbers. We have bingo nights backstage on the Take That tour to help everyone relax. We call it Barlow’s Bingo.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt

‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ actress Jennifer Love Hewitt was seen attending a special game of bingo with reality star Ali Fedotowsky. The two celebrities took part Drag Queen Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood and although there was no word on if either star took home any prizes, they did seem to enjoy the special night out!

Russell Crowe

Russell used to work as a Bingo caller when he was younger which he didn’t take seriously as first but after a while he really enjoyed it. A friend of Russell’s commented that he now wants to take up Bingo again: “He loves talking about his days as a bingo caller, he had a great time. He treated it as a bit of a joke at first but he really got caught up in the excitement of it all. Russell tried to spice things up by using ruder versions of the bingo calls. His bosses failed to see the funny side and booted him out, but he says he always checks to see where the local venue is when he’s somewhere new.”

Sharon Osbourne

Sharon was a Bingo caller for charity to raise money for Comic Relief and reveals that she loves the game herself too: “It promises to be a very exciting night. I love bingo, and what’s more I’m a huge supporter of Comic Relief. I hope bingo lovers and people new to the game come along to one of the clubs on 9 March and help us raise as much money as possible.”
