5 Star Women Comment on Having a Sexy Image

Having a sexy image can be tough in the spotlight: it can be hard to be taken seriously and you may have the chance to advance in your career by playing up your sexier side. These 5 stars have all spoken on how they deal with their perceived sexiness. Some are flattered by the label but say they don’t feel that sexy in real life, while others refuse to play up their sexy side to land roles because they want to be taken seriously in their field. Some are fighting off their sexy image and battling against it so that their career can last for longer, while others aren’t bothered by it but don’t feel as though they’re quite worthy of having a sexy image!

Eva Longoria

Eva is known for her sexy on-screen image thanks to her ‘Desperate Housewives’ role but she wants to shake it off so she can do other things too: “I’ve done a couple of films and I’d love to do more. I want roles that are the opposite of Gabrielle – I don’t want to be known as just a sexpot, it’s so hard to break out of. Even though Jennifer Aniston’s had huge success, she’ll always be Rachel Green.”

Jessica Alba

Jessica may be know as a sex symbol but she is interested in playing roles that don’t rely on her looks because she wants to have a lasting career: “What happens when the looks fade? If I don’t establish myself as someone who can act a part rather than simply look the part, I’ll soon be finished. I’m just not a push-up bras and miniskirts kind of girl. When I’m working I won’t even wear a skirt that’s above my knee.”

Mila Kunis

Mila is often labeled sexy but she admits she doesn’t feel very sexy and won’t take roles based on sexiness: “I appreciate the attention but I don’t think of myself as particularly attractive at all. I also don’t have that naturally sexual or sensuous way of behaving that some women have. L.A. is filled with the most beautiful women in the world who all come here to be part of the entertainment industry. It’s impossible to compete against that. Some women rely on their looks to make it and others know that they need to work hard to not just be treated as a pretty object and have a serious career. So I’ve never bought into my own beauty myth and I have always worked hard and believed in myself as an actress in order to get where I am.”

Miranda Kerr

Miranda may be a lingerie model but she doesn’t see herself as sexy despite her image:”It’s not really something I’m aware of and it’s definitely not how I see myself. I think it is something that definitely comes from working with Victoria’s Secret because that’s all about sexiness and all of the girls are so beautiful. I’m comfortable with it, but I don’t look at myself in that way!”

Rihanna

Rihanna may be flattered by those who call her sexy but she just sees herself as a regular woman: “Every time I hear that it’s definitely flattering, but also uncomfortable. That’s not a priority on my list – being a sex symbol or being overly sexy. I’m just a normal woman. I don’t really focus on being a sex symbol.”
