While there is so much pressure on them to be stick thin in the spotlight, these 5 stars refuse to diet. All naturally different sizes and shapes, they all say they are happy and healthy and don’t need to push themselves to be slimmer because they currently like how they look. Some have been criticized for being over weight in the past but they don’t let the critics get to them because they feel happiest they way they are right now. Not caving to the pressure to fit into tiny sizes on the red carpet, these celebrities aren’t bothered about other people’s weight perceptions and are say they have never dieted to please someone else because they are happy themselves.
Adele is constantly coming under fire for her weight, even by random people online, but she won’t diet because it doesn’t impact her health or sex life so she’s happy the way she is: ”I read a comment on YouTube that I thought would upset me – ‘Test pilot for pies’ – but I’ve always been fine with it. I would only lose weight if it affected my health or sex life, which it doesn’t.”
Geri doesn’t believe in going through strict diets to keep her weight down: “I don’t follow strict diets because I don’t believe in them. I’ve yo-yoed like everyone else, but I finally feel comfortable with the way I am. I designed my new bikinis to appeal to every woman, whether they’re a size 8 or 16.”
Jennifer refused to diet but does try to keep in shape by exercising: ”I hate saying, ‘I like exercising’. I want to punch people who say that in the face. But it’s nice being in shape for a movie, because they basically do it all for you. It’s like, ‘Here’s your trainer. This is what you can eat’. I don’t diet. I do exercise! But I don’t diet. You can’t work when you’re hungry, you know?”
Kate says she isn’t naturally very skinny so she won’t push her body to be that way when it isn’t her: “I am not a twig – and refuse to be a twig. I would like young girls who are screwed up about their bodies to think that it’s possible to have a healthy shape. Everyone gets a bit screwed up about themselves, physically, when you’re growing up. I don’t do crash diets or eat fish rather than meat and salads until they come out of my ears.”
Naomi says she never felt like she had to slim down to please anyone despite working for a model for a very long time: ”I don’t really know about weight or age. Weight was never something that was part of my time and I worked everyday. I’ve never struggled with weight and I think food is pleasurable.”
