Pregnancy is the one time that your actually advised to up your calorie intake, so instead of carefully monitoring how much your eating, it’s cool to just go with it – at least that’s the way these 5 stars approached it. Allowing themselves to give in to their cravings for sweet treats, these 5 stars all used their pregnancy as a time to indulge, safe in the knowledge that they couldn’t be criticized for packing on the pounds by the media when they’re simply helping their growing baby form. Although some feel they might have over indulged, others were happy they got to eat whatever they felt like for a change!
Hilary used her pregnancy as an opportunity to indulge in treats without being criticized: ‘My whole life I’ve worked out and exercised and been in the public eye and always kind of watched what I ate. And this was like a free pass and it was a blast, but I had fun [the first time]. I wouldn’t go back and change it because I had a lot of fun.’
Vanessa kept an eye on her diet but didn’t restrict anything she craved: ”I think it’s important to let yourself indulge but what I eat, what I put into my body, goes directly to my baby. It makes you think, ‘Do I really want to get that Snickers bar snack or do I want to get a bowl of fruit?’ So then I go for the fruit and the antioxidants. But of course I’m human and after we went out to dinner last night, I had a bowl of ice cream. After the baby is born, I still want to have me. I don’t want to start at ground zero to try and get back to that.”
Milla wrote that following her pregnancy she had gained lots of weight from indulging in donuts and other treats: “I am so huge you guys! I’ve gained almost 70 pounds in the last 4months! It’s unbelievable how quickly it all happened, all I did was eat three bagels every morning with butter, peanut butter and jelly allover them, a few boxes of crispy cream donuts for lunch and boom! I’m tipping the scale at 195! Man, that came out of nowhere! Lol! Well maybe not completely out of nowhere!”
Kendra used her pregnancy as a time to let go and eat whenever she wanted to: “My pregnancy was a free for all, I had no boundaries. I just ate, ate, ate. I just said, ‘This is my time, these are my nine months, I can just have fun, how big can I really get?’ Sixty pounds! I gained 60 pounds!”
Jessica allowed herself to eat whatever she wanted and to enjoy it: ‘I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it. I didn’t know [the weight] didn’t all come off with the baby. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiance and herself.”
