5 Celebrities Who Are Frequently Mistaken to Be Other Stars

There are some celebrities that really do look quite alike and unfortunately for them, they haven’t been able to avoid the obvious comparisons. Some are often mistaken for their lookalike and are even asked to sign photographs that aren’t of them! It’s embarrassing and sometimes even annoying, while others say they are flattered by the comparisons because they admire the person they’re mistaken for.

Amy Adams

Amy says she is often mistaken for Australian actress Isla Fisher: “I get Isla Fisher all the time, still. And I know Isla, and for a while our kids went to the same dance school. When I’m with Isla, we both look at one another and say, ‘I get it, but I don’t get it.'”

Cate Blanchett

Cate says she is complimented for work that she hasn’t done because people believe she is Kate Winslet: “Well, Kate Winslet and I share the same agent. Often people will say ‘I recognize you, you were great in Titanic!’Look if I’m mistaken for Kate Winslet I’m happy.”

Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel has been asked to sign photos of Elijah Wood: “I have signed a picture of Elijah Wood – and I think we’ve both said in interviews that we would like to play each other in films of our lives – but I was on a red carpet in Japan, and this Japanese man gave me a picture of Elijah, and I knew I wasn’t going to get past the language barrier to explain, so I wrote ‘I am not Elijah Wood, signed Daniel Radcliffe’.”

Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth and comedian Chelsea Handler are often told they look very similar and people confuse them both: “I don’t mind being compared to Chelsea Handler at all. It helps when someone says, ‘Oh, you’re Chelsea Handler,’ and I say, ‘Yes I am.’ That gives me one more gain of anonymity. We met at a party and were both aware people compared or confused us. She’s a great broad, real wit.”

Zooey Deschanel

Zooey is now just frustrated by the amount of times she is told she looks like Katy Perry: “It’s a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt. The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike. I have met her before. She seems like a nice person. I’m happy that she’s famous enough now that she’s not going out and being mistaken for me.”
