5 Celebrities Speak on Giving Birth Naturally

Shunning painkillers and other treatments to make their birth easier, these 5 celebrities have spoken on natural births. While it can be difficult to plan a natural birth because anything can happen when the time comes, these stars have either gone through with it or plan to in the future, and say they find the experience empowering. Here are their thoughts on the subject!

Amber Rose

Before welcoming her son, Amber revealed that she planned a natural birth: ”I’m so ready. I’ve decided that I’m going to have an all-natural water birth. No medicine. I want those bragging rights! The next time Wiz has a stomach ache or anything, I’ll say, ‘I popped out a baby all-natural.”’

Eva doesn’t understand how women can schedule c-sections: “I wanted to give birth naturally at nine months. I’ve heard some women book delivery by Caesarean early before their due date. I think a lot do it because of the fear of pain.”

Evan Rachel Wood

Evan gave birth naturally and says she was happy with her choice: ”Nothing against any woman, if you carried that baby and you get it out safely, you’ve done an amazing job. Obviously there is no judgement here.’ It’s a personal choice. I saw this documentary that Ricki Lake did called, ‘The Business of Being Born’, and I just didn’t know I had an option. I honestly thought homebirth was probably illegal until I watched it and I thought, ‘Oh, I didn’t know it could be like that.’ ”

Kelis

Kelis had a very painful labour but did it all naturally: “It was really savage. I was in labour for 67 hours. I went natural, and it was savage! If you ever doubted the glory of God, you have to rethink that after having a baby. I mean there’s no way I could have done this by myself. There is a creator.”

Mila Kunis

Mila is currently pregnant and says she would love to have a natural birth: ”We thought about a home birth, we watched a couple of documentaries and spoke to some midwifes and people, and realised our hospital have the midwives and doulas who can do that. I’m going to do it as natural as I can, No epidural, I’m crazy, right. But I wanted this! I did this to myself, I might as well do it right. Well, I did have a little help…”
