When your a guy in Hollywood, perhaps one who has had a single period, the gay rumors always start to swirl in the media – these 5 celebrities have addressed how they feel about the rumors that surround their sexuality. Some have simply denied that they’re gay but say they don’t have anything against it, while others refuse to comment on their sexuality because they believe it would be offensive to make being gay into something that has to be shamefully denied. Stars such as George Clooney and Zac Efron refuse to comment and don’t take any notice of the annoying rumors with the attitude that their sexuality shouldn’t matter to anyone else but themselves.
George Clooney
George refuses to say he isn’t gay because he doesn’t want to make it sound like it’s a negative thing he must deny: “I think it’s funny, but the last thing you’ll ever see me do is jump up and down, saying, “These are lies!” That would be unfair and unkind to my good friends in the gay community. I’m not going to let anyone make it seem like being gay is a bad thing. My private life is private, and I’m very happy in it.Who does it hurt if someone thinks I’m gay? I’ll be long dead and there will still be people who say I was gay. I don’t give a sh*t.”
Zac Efron
Zac finds the gay rumors flattering and doesn’t feel as though he needs to address them: ”It’s very flattering. After ‘High School Musical’ and ‘Hairspray’. I’ve always felt embraced by the gay community, and I feel incredibly grateful. I don’t like to live in fear about things like rumours and backlash to begin with – that’s the way I was raised – but I just can’t see what’s so wrong about being gay.”
Wentworth Miller
Wentworth admits that he isn’t gay, but doesn’t mind if people want to think of him as such: “No, I’m not gay. I know these rumours are out there…I’m cool with the fact that they exist, I mean this is about fantasy. Certain people are going to have certain fantasies. If someone wants to imagine me with a woman, or a man or one of each, that’s cool with me as long as you keep watching the show.”
Vin Diesel
Vin won’t comment on the rumors because he prefers to stay quiet on the topic like many other famous actors before him: “I’m not gonna put it out there on a magazine cover like some other actors. I come from the Harrison Ford, Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro code of silence.”
Kellan Lutz
Kellan knows there are rumors but doesn’t let them effect him: “I don’t Google myself, but I’ve heard that people think I’m gay. I’ve heard it all. See, I don’t really go after girls. Most of the girlfriends I’ve had have come after me. So it’s really funny when girls get offended because I don’t hit on them. They’ll transform their insecurity into, ‘Oh, that makes sense, because I heard you’re into guys and have a boyfriend.’ I’m like, ‘Seriously? That’s your tactic to get me to like you?’ There will always be rumours, but I know who I am.”
