Changing diapers has to be categorized as one of the downsides when welcoming a newborn but it’s something every new parent has to face. These 5 celebrities have all opened up on how they’re coping with all of the mess! Some say they love it and don’t see it as a hard task at all, while others took a little while to get to grips with it or often call on their partners to give them a helping hand when it comes to the challenging task. Clearly loved up with their bundles of joy, these stars don’t always have a nanny around to take care of the mess and they’re all willing to step up to it themselves!
Beyonce says husband Jay-Z is an expert when it comes to diaper changes and they both share the task regularly:”Actually, [Jay-Z] is very good. We both [change diapers]. I love changing diapers, I love it. I love every moment of it, it’s so beautiful. I love it all.”
Charlize loves changing diapers and has taken her son to so many countries that she knows how to work many different kinds of diapers from around the world:”I love it! I’ve got to tell you, I’m available for other babies’ diapers to be changed. I can do it in my sleep now. I am so good. I now know how to change a Japanese diaper, a Spanish diaper, an English diaper, a German diaper. I’m like the diaper pro now.”
Jon changes his daughter’s diapers even when it isn’t really needed because he enjoys it so much: “I think I was basically prepared for everything. I didn’t realise changing diapers was going to be as fun. That was actually the thing I was most apprehensive about, but now it’s like, ‘Let’s change a diaper!’ I hope she’s made a doodoo, so I can just change it. She’s always awake and happy and playful when she gets a diaper change.”
Nick says he is often put on diaper duty by wife Mariah Carey and he’s come somewhat of a pro: ”Me! I mean we all do it but for some reason I get that duty a little bit more. I am not scared of it. I go in, I put the gloves on. Real men change diapers!’
Vanessa and husband Nick share diaper duty and Nick often sings to calm the baby:”I think the diaper thing has been the biggest challenge. His first blowout, I made two rookie mistakes. Number one I didn’t put a diaper underneath the old one and number two I didn’t let him finish. [Her husband] Nick and I laughed ourselves to tears. Nick’s the best. I’m really lucky. He changes them a lot. Since I nurse, Nick sees that as his bonding time. He’ll talk and sing to him while doing it.”
