5 Celebrities Who Put Their Careers Before Love

When you’ve worked extremely hard to get where you are, it’s no wonder there are major celebrities who put their careers before everything else, even finding love. They believe a relationship can get in the way of moving forward to where they want to be, or feel that it might be unfair to their partner if they can’t put them first. Thus, their relationships have taken a backseat until they’ve done everything they want to do with their careers first and are satisfied their work won’t dry up, which is understandable considering how quickly some actresses and actors disappear after just a moment in the spotlight.

George Clooney

George has put his career first for a long time, but is starting to relax and have relationships now that his career is stable: “I was working so hard on my film projects that for a time I basically didn’t even think very much about how my personal life was evolving. I didn’t care in the sense that I didn’t have a family or children to look after and I wasn’t involved in any long-term relationships. Now, I still feel I haven’t done my best work although I’ve at least put myself in a position where I can keep doing what I love and enjoy the process. I even have a bit of a personal life these days. I don’t want to make anyone sick but things are going pretty well for me.”

Sienna Miller

Sienna recently commented that she doesn’t have time for a relationships because her work keeps her busy: “Honestly I don’t have time for those type of things. But I do agree that summer is an ideal time to fall in love. Lately I’m non-stop and really working a lot, so I don’t have time for doing romantic things. But it’s OK for now, I really don’t mind.”

Paris Hilton

Paris puts her business first even though she dreams of getting married and having kids too: “Eventually one day I want to have my own family, get married and have children, but right now I’m just focusing on my business. And also involved in charity work, I’ve been doing charity since I was a little girl. I thank god everyday and think that it’s important to give back and also lend my voice to those in need. One of the reasons God makes celebrities or other people is to give back, and to be able to use it in a positive way.”

Nicole Scherzinger

Nicole says her long term dreams aren’t about love, but her career which is most important: “In ten years time I would like to have accomplished a lot in my career – that is the most important thing to me. My dream is to do my own music one day, to have an unbelievable tour, to have done some musical theatre and some film and maybe to have opened up a performing arts school for special needs kids. That is my ultimate dream, not marriage.”

Jeremy Renner

Jeremy felt like he couldn’t date while working on his career: “I never dated, because I couldn’t afford to date [early in my career]. I didn’t even have electricity. You try to put a positive spin on it, like, ‘Hey, this is so sexy – look at all these candles’, I loved what I was doing. The sacrifices I made in personal relationships had the biggest effect on my life. Even now, any woman would take a number-two seat to my job.”
