Jessica Alba embraces her sexuality more as a mother: ”Having babies helped me embrace my sexuality. Up until then, I was quite shy about it. But once I experienced how incredible and amazing it was to create a life, it was empowering. Now, I feel freer to express myself and just be me. Through motherhood I really came into my own and, for me, feeling sexy is all about this type of comfort, confidence, and true happiness.”

Jessica thinks more about safety now: ”There are little things that you kind of obsess over. I never knew how protective I was until I had my own child. I’m already thinking about intruders coming into the house and what our escape route would be.”

The director thinks her outlook on life has changed since becoming a mother and even used that as inspiration in ‘Somewhere’. She commented: “I think motherhood changes your perspective and your priorities and it makes you think about your own parents. And I was looking at my boyfriend being the father of a daughter.And I was curious how complicated that relationship would be for a guy who was with a lot of women to have a daughter who is now on the verge of becoming a woman. Kids are aware of what’s going on when people think they’re not paying attention. I tried to put that into the character.”
