5 Celebrities Who Collect Weird Stuff!

Plenty of people collect shoes, clothes, stamps, posters, CDs – but there are some who like to create vast collections of bizarre stuff. From highly unusual dolls to dead animals, these 5 stars are obsessed with collecting particular items that are quite unusual, rare or plain weird. Perhaps it makes finding the item in question even more fun when you finally get your hands it, while some really are passionate about the strange things they collect and are always expanding their collection while keeping their eyes peeled for more.

Dita Von Teese

Dita has a taxidermy and rare feather collection:  ”I collect vintage taxidermy: I have two big heart-shaped domes filled with birds, I have a bear rug, a monkey and a full ostrich. I also have a collection of rare feathers I got from a famous place in France that supplied feathers to Josephine Baker, Mistinguett, and all the showgirls in Paris for 300 years.”

Tom Hanks

Tom is obsessed with collecting old manual typewriters and has over 100, but sadly they cost a lot of money to ship from places all over the world: “(I collect them) from the 1930s until they stopped making them. I bought a $5 typewriter from Australia that cost me $85 to ship.”

Simon Pegg

Simon likes to collection action figures of himself: ”Of course I collect action figures of myself! The ‘Star Trek’ Transporter Room set is brilliant. I used to collect figures as a kid so to have a boxed figure of me is an extraordinary pleasure. My wife thinks they’re creepy. People who think it’s unseemly to collect action figures of yourself are people who don’t have action figures of themselves. I do like my 12-inch talking ‘Shaun of the Dead’. There’s a highly mobile one from Sideshoe Collectables that’s cool as well. I also appear in various animal forms from ‘Ice Age’ and ‘Narnia’. And there’s a Lego Shaun now as well. There was a campaign online to get a Lego Shaun made. I feel bad for Lego, he’s not exactly Harry Potter.”

Noel Gallagher

Noel likes to collect underwear that is thrown at him by women while he performs because he sees them as being like a trophy: “I keep them all as trophies like a little serial killer. You know, ladies underwear is always welcome on stage in any capacity.”

Johnny Depp

A source close to Johnny reveals that the actor likes to collection unusual dolls: ”He owns dozens of limited edition Barbies. He’s also got dolls based on Beyonce and Destiny’s Child, the ‘High School Musical’ cast, New Kids on the Block, Elvis and even Donny Osmond. The weirdest one is a Lindsay Lohan, complete with ankle monitoring bracelet from when she was under house arrest.”
