Is Jessica Alba’s Marriage to Cash Warren in Trouble?

Jessica Alba, who is starring in the upcoming comedy Valentine’s Day, made some cryptic remarks about the institution of marriage in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine.  She’s been married to Cash Warren since 2008.  But her comments suggest that there may be trouble in paradise.  She says, for example,

“I had a hard time agreeing with marriage at all because I feel like its been warped. Originally, it was two families coming together to make a stronger family. It was about survival — not love or soul mates.”

I’m not sure what to make of this.  Jessica isn’t entirely articulate here.  She’s not saying that marriage is crap, as has been suggested by another website.  But she seems to be saying that there is an idea of marriage that doesn’t match what goes on in reality.   This is supported by another comment that she makes.

“And now the way they market marriage — even as a kid through Disney movies — is that it’s all about Prince Charming sweeping you off your feet. There’s this mentality that you need the big dress and the big day — the day every girl gets to be a princess. I didn’t agree with any of that. This tradition of obeying your husband like he’s your king? It’s a load of crap. Love and honor, yes. But you should love and honor yourself too, and all your friends.”

So is she happily married?  I’m not sure.  When asked why she tied the knot with Cash she says, “I chose to get married because, essentially, you’re given a deck of cards in life. The hand you were dealt with is your family and you can’t choose them.”

Do I hear bitterness?  Maybe she’s MiserAlba after all!  And maybe guys you still got a chance!

Carrie Prejean to wed; husband thankfully is Ram tough

Former Miss California Carrie Prejean – whose year in the spotlight has been marked by her pronouncement of her conservative Christian values, anti-gay marriage comments, losing her crown, breast implants and a sex video for her ex-boyfriend, her writing of a book about how she was victimized by the media and more nipple slip bikini photos than an endless loop of Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl performance – has gotten engaged. To a professional football player. QB Kyle Boller of the St. Louis Rams. He must be happy because for all of her self-important nuttiness, Carrie is hot, and it’s clear to everyone she puts out. And I’m happy because now I never again have to read about her dating and since Boller isn’t a very good QB and the Rams are never going to the Super Bowl I may never have to see her or read about her at all. Congratulations to them both. I give it three years.

All that surgery has addled Heidi Montag’s brain

There are a million reasons not to take Heidi Montag seriously – and she adds new ones every week.

But a perfect example of her ridiculousness appears in People magazine where she discusses her return from her extreme makeover 11 weeks ago.

“I’m very fragile,” she tells People. “I’m not in a great place right now.”

It’s obvious why she’s fragile, with her new inflatable boobs and lips. Her mental state, she says, took a hit from her visit to her disapproving mother.

“I was hysterical the whole time,” she says of the trip. “It was so hurtful. My body really set back from recovering from all the crying, stress and that traumatic experience. My insides were just throbbing and pounding but I know it’s part of what I had to go through.”

But in classic Lindsay Lohan denial mode, Heidi follows that line up with, otherwise, ”I’m thrilled. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.”

Fragile. Not in great place. Hysterical. Happiest I’ve ever been. Which of these emotions is not like the others?

The Cast of “The Vampire Diaries” on Nylon’s February Cover

Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder appear on this month’s cover of Nylon Magazine. The trio who have shot to fame thanks to the unexpected success of “The Vampire Diaries” are interviewed about their new found stardom. When they’re questioned about how the shows success seems to be riding off the back of other similar themed movies and shows (Twilight and True Blood), Nina speaks up:

“When the show first started… you automatically thought Twilight.  But once you continue, there’s a whole other side of it that goes a lot deeper… It’s about letting everyone know that we’re different but we all respect each other.”

The Nylon interviewer asked Ian Somerhalder, who also enjoy success for a brief time on Lost if there was any similarities between the two shows.  Ian replied:

“[My character] is gonna be the coolest character on television. There was no doubt about it. It reminded me of Sawyer, Josh Holloway’s character on LOST. He was always the character I secretly wished I could play.”

The goof is in the Pudding: Harvard cross-dressers honor Justin Timberlake

At the Hasty Pudding Theatricals roast of Justin Timberlake last night, the Boston Globe reported that Jessica Biel was in the audience. Hmmm….

In the comedy area, the Justin was told he was an entertainment triple threat: “He can sing, he can dance, and he goes straight to DVD.’’

After consulting with Biel, the Harvard boys also gave Justin a box for his privates (from his now famous “Saturday Night Live” skit) only it was a tiny jewelry box.

Is Jennifer Aniston Shacking Up With Gerard Butler?

Jennifer invited some of her closest friends to Cabo, Mexico for her upcoming birthday. Guests include Sheryl Crow, Courtney Cox and Gerard Butler. Rumours have been circulating that Jen and Gerard have been getting close. First of all they starred opposite each other in Bounty Hunter. At the time of making the movie an insider said that they would share kisses off screen and spend time in each others trailers. They even attended the Golden Globes together recently.

Jen and Gerard didn’t let any photos get snapped of them together relaxing poolside on their break – and they kept their distance any time they thought pictures could be taken of them. I’m not totally convinced they’re together but it seems pretty possible – which begs the question, why him? He’s certainly no Brad Pitt that’s for certain!
